Some readings & authors I really liked: Steven Pinker's "The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature" (genetics/social), Pierre Bourdieu's perspective on what is thinkable and unthinkable in a society and the resulting consequences, e.g. in "La misère du monde"...
