  4. We kind of had a brown Christmas (this drought’s been going a long time). Then the last few days it’s rained several times. Not enough to take us off water restrictions or replace our ground water – those things take a lot more time, and rain – but enough to restore a little green and make us feel blessed.

  5. January 3rd and still very green — even greener than in summer, thanks to all the rain. And they’re calling for a record 13C (55F) this weekend. PucPuc came out of hibernation(?) yesterday and ran around the backyard track with me a few times — it was great to see her still healthy and bold as ever.
