Thanks everyone. It turns out the CSS stylesheet was being overridden by some code in my Tweeter widget, which my brilliant brother Alan has fixed.

In your stylesheet (Appearance-> Editor-> Stylesheet) you should see a section marked "/* Begin Lists" and under that, ".entry ol li": tweak the values for padding and margin in pixels as you see it done elsewhere, saving your changes and checking the site, until you get what you want. (Be sure to save a copy of the entire stylesheet to Notepad before you start, so you can revert to that if you mess something up and can't remember how it was.)

Dave, how your site displays an ordered list depends on the CSS stylesheet; it's not under the control of WordPress per se.

Crap.... It read the codes and so they did not show up... that should read:

Are you using the “”(unordered list) or “” (ordered list) code?

Hopefully with spaces it will appear ;-)

Hey Dave --

Are you using the ""(unordered list) or "" (ordered list) code? That's always worked on my site.
