JEB BUSH FORCES HIS RELIGIOUS DOGMA ON PREGNANT FLORIDA WOMAN

Jeb Bush has interfered in the case of a raped, severely mentally and physically disabled Florida woman, insisting that a state guardian be appointed to protect the ‘rights’ of the five-month-old fetus, before one is appointed for the woman, who faces life-threatening physical danger if forced to carry the pregnancy to term. It’s hard to believe anyone this extreme in their political views can actually get elected. Thanks to Jan at Secular Blasphemy for picking this one up, which, surprise, was not picked up by the major media.

No surprise here. Women are disposable, fetuses are not in this fascist state.

I sense a considerable hardening of Rayne’s political sensibilities of late. Our Freedom 2004 Meme, with her crafting, might end up being more battering ram than elegy. We probably need it, though. I just find all this disturbing, and find myself saying more and more often “That could never happen here” (in naive and idyllic Canada). And then I wonder…

On the issue of being on woman, I am particularly hardened — like a callus, from years of battering. It’s a very short walk, Dave, from “It could never happen here” to “Omigod, what have they done?” One election, a handful of votes, a couple Justices and you are here, regressed 20+ years. I dread thinking that Jeb Bush is next after George, that we could see not 4 more but 12 more years of this onslaught. What would happen to our relationship with Canada in 4 years, in 12 years? Look what’s happened in a mere 2.5 years. You’ll note since I launched the Freedom 2004 Build-A-Meme project that I have not advocated negativity and attacks. But I will be bluntly truthful — and the truth is often ugly. If that’s what it takes to keep the US from regressing farther and taking the rest of the world in its decline, so be it. I’ll dish the truth.

Bravo. I think that straight talk, especially when it stems from personal experience, will trump slick rhetoric, even if that rhetoric is accompanied by a clever meme, every time.
