  1. I am in awe of people who can play with statistics the way The Flying Karamazov Brothers play with assorted jugglable (a new coinage?) objects.I’m honored to have made the list, but have to wonder: What Does This Mean?Am I doing something right? Something wrong? Enlighten me, O Manipulator of Numbers.Inquiring minds want to know.

  2. Dave Pollard says:

Christopher:54/19 22 means you rank 19th in number of inbound blogs with 22 (you had only 12 inbound blogs a month ago), which is a fairly high number i.e. 22 people think your blog is worth looking at quite regularly. The 54 means that they’re not actually looking at it that often, which could mean either you’re not posting often, or you’ve lost their attention for some reason. If you follow the post’s technorati link, then type in your own URL and look at the makeup of the 22 inbound blogs, you can get an idea of who your regular audience is, and who are the 10 new people who have blogrolled you since last month. That will probably tell you what to blog about if you want to get them coming around more often (maybe the Haiku?, maybe the theatrical reports?). I think another reason your rank in #hits is not high, is that you write about enduring things, and write sparingly, so you don’t get the masses of Google hits that someone like M.Marprelate gets when he blogs about Matrix Reloaded. You and I are alike in that. Does that help make sense of the numbers?

This is fine work. I am in Los Angeles btw.

  4. paulapalooza says:

WOw! I can’t believe I’m just under the top 50. That is so amazing. cool. Especially because I was on vacation for so long and didn’t even get to boost my own ratings with my own perverse sense of self-importance.
