LINDA FEASBY (KIZIAK)

LINDA FEASBY (KIZIAK)

KiziakAfter Kelvin I majored in French and minored in math at U of W and won the gold medal in Arts and in French. Then I studied in Germany for a year on scholarship and returned to Winnipeg, where I met my future husband practice-teaching at River Heights. I married Jim Feasby (his sister Anne was a contemporary of ours) in July 1974. I taught French and German at Daniel Mac (where I directed the musicals and the drama club) until our son arrived in 1980. Our daughter arrived in 1986. I taught for a year at Kelvin and 5 at River Heights, which brought back many memories. Since 1995 I have taught Français and Spanish half-time at Collège Churchill. I spend a lot of time at the Bureau de líÉducation française as a member of the Provincial Exam Committee for Français Grade 12. I also run a translation business, Technical Expressions, mostly English to French, which keeps me busy, and Iím treasurer of the Spanish Teachersí Association.

I have been able to pursue my avocation of singing for several years now. In 1983 I joined the Philharmonic Choir and have been an occasional soloist with this group. Iíve sung in the opera chorus since 1984 and have loved being on the stage with great singers. I just finished Lucia di Lammermoor with Tracy Dahl. I have also performed in 6 Gilbert and Sullivan shows and two Rainbow Stage shows. For the last few years I have shared the job of soprano lead at St. Andrews River Heights church.

We have lived in Charleswood for almost 20 years now. Weíre on the river and love it here. I enjoy gardening, when I can find the time. Unfortunately, Jim will be in Calgary the weekend of this reunion for a Feasby family reunion, which I will be missing, and of course Anne (who lives in Guelph) wonít be able to be to be here either.
