New Camera Photos

I got my first “real” camera last weekend, a Pentax K-x with a regular and a 300mm telephoto lens, on Craigslist. Here are some of my first shots with it, which I’ve put up on my Picasa site:

    Hello Dave,

Your house and garden look beautiful. I started reading your blog a couple of years ago, but stopped for a while. This is my first time back in over a year or so. I noted your recent post on depression/anxiety and wanted to share an experience with you. Last month I attended a meditation retreat in Merritt. For me, the retreat helped shake off the last few remnants of those same negative and lingering mind-states that I was struggling with. If you have some free time, why not try it? It is a beautiful part of the province and I think you would enjoy the experience.

Perhaps you are already familiar with Vipassana, but if you’ve never had the opportunity to really focus deeply on it, I totally recommend it. Ten days of noble silence, vegetarian food and meditation instruction. Wonderful!

  3. Dave,

These are gorgeous. Your home is gorgeous. A mirror to you.

    Dave,
Photo of mountains was rich- nice perspective. The wispy clouds lower in the foreground set up the upper 2/3 image neatly. Also, the blending of the whitecap peaks with the higher clouds at the top of image was top shelf. Chiming in with the other posters to say-keep them coming!!
